This Institute was established on 16th March 1998 in the rented building near Radha Krishana Temple Jawali Distt Kangra (H.P). Initially two trades i.e. COPA and Dress making was started in single unit in above said building.
Shaheed Surinder Singh Industrial Training Institute Jawali was named after a great Scarified by Hav. Surinder Singh R/o village Dhan PO Matlahar Tehsil Jawali Distt. Kangra (HP) during the operation Vijay in 1999.
At Presently Shaheed Surinder Singh Govt. Industrial Training Institute Jawali (Kangra) HP has imparting Technical Training to 386 trainees in different disciplines namely COPA, Dress Making ,Fitter ,Electrician, Refrigeration and Air Condition Technician , Mechanic Motor Vehicle and Solar Technician (Electrical). All these trades are running under CTS Scheme . and affiliated by DGE&T in NCVT Stream . Besides this Short Term Courses are also running in this institute in different trades w.e.f. 2019 . About 730 trainees has been enrolled in Short Term Courses to till date.
This Institute has also been covered under PPP mode/ Strive Scheme . At presently 6 Nos Trades namely Dress Making ,Fitter ,Electrician, Refrigeration and Air Condition Technician, Mechanic Motor Vehicle and Solar Technician (Electrical) having 13 units has been running under IMC.

A number of Seminars, declamation contest and debates are being ensured in the I.T.I.

It is situated on the left bank of Raja Ka Talab, Jawali, Dehra Road at about 1.5 km from Jawanwala Shehar Railway Station . This Institute is Surrounded by thickly populated villages namely Bhanei, Makrahan, NP Jawali, Lubh, Paloura, Maira, Samlana, Mawa, Kehrian, Dhan, Chawara, Matlahar, Jaisar, Souhra, Gurah, Nargala, Kharad, Kardial, and Butt Bhaloon etc.
